Black Stars Captain, Andre Morgan Dede Ayew in a meeting with the President of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo has promised that he and his teammates will bring Ghanaians victory in Afcon 2019.
The former U20 captain who guided the Black Satellites to a world cup victory in 2009 has recently been named to lead the Black Stars in this year’s AFCON to be held in Egypt where the Black Stars of Ghana hope to clinch victory to end 37 years of trophy drought.
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo hosted the Black Stars team and management to a farewell dinner at the Jubilee House as the team prepares to leave for their pre-tournament camp in the United Arab Emirates on June 1.
Captain Andre Ayew at the farewell dinner expressed awareness that they face a difficult task ahead.
”We know it is going to be a difficult task ahead of us, its a huge tournament but we are ready. We are going to Dubai to prepare, to work very hard and we know that only victory will make our people smile. So we are going to make sure that we bring victory to the country,” he said.
Dede Ayew has made 81 appearances for the national team scoring 14 goals.
