Newly signed act of Rufftown Records, Fantana has revealed that she and Wendy Shay are cool despite views expressed by keen followers of music that there might be bad blood between them since women do not want competitions.
The Afrobeat artist told DJ Advicer on Happy FM that it was Wendy who initiated the move from the scratch in meeting Bullet and possibly owes her much gratitude instead of any beef.
“I was interested in music but never took it serious until Wendy Shay introduced me to Bullet. I already liked what Bullet was doing with the female artistes. So Wendy gave my contact to Bullet and it started from there.”
She further on added that;
“I was a shy person so singing wasn’t my thing even though I had the voice. Those around me encouraged me to use my voice. Since singing is a God-given talent, I had to overcome the shyness and use my talent to the fullest. My biggest support is my Mum and grandmother. They both have been very supportive”.
The Ghanaian based and UK-born afrobeat artiste also said that based her research done on the Ghanaian music scene, she would love to have a collaboration with one big act and chose Shatta Wale as the first artiste she’ll love to collaborate with.
