Manchester United Target Dembele As Sancho Move Stalls
Man Utd are negotiating with Barça, offering a loan, and trying to convince the player.
Standards have fallen at Manchester United.
The Premier League transfer window opened the day after the season finished, on Monday, July 27, yet, Manchester United have managed to sign just one player, Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The transfer window closes on Monday, Oct. 5 at 11 p.m. BST/6 p.m. ET before the UEFA competition squad deadline the following day and the window has been one which Utd fans have called for Woodward out.
With 4 days more for the transfer window to close, Manchester United have now made contacts with Ousmane Dembele’s agent as it appears they’ll not get their main target, Sancho from Dortmund.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs a new winger before next Monday’s deadline and with Dortmund’s standstill on the €120m or nothing, the club have now turned to Barcelona to loan Dembele who is not eager to move to Old Trafford.
Reports by MUFC Arena claim Dembele has already turned down a loan move away from the Camp Nou as he is eager to fight for his place under Barca’s new manager, Ronald Koeman in the coming weeks.
Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Utd’s interest in Dembele and added that even though the player wants to stay at Barca, Man Utd are negotiating with Barça, offering a loan and trying to convince the player.
