‘Mobile Money Tax To Be Introduced Soon’– Ursula Owusu
As though the current Communication Service Tax (CST) introduced by New Patriotic Party under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo is not enough, the government is intending to tax users of mobile money in the country.
This was revealed by communication minister, Hon. Ursula Owusu in an interview with Osei Bonsu on Asempa FM when she made it clear that very soon, Mobile money will also be taxed
According to the minister, the ministry is in talks with telecommunication companies in the country to pave way for the implementation of the policy.
Hon. Ursula Owusu said;
“Mobile Money taxation is on our radar and we are monitoring and very soon you’ll hear of us in no time but as it stands it’s not been taxed.”
MTN MobileMoney is a cash management service available on the mobile phone or internet. It is mainly about facilitating money transfer for the Ghanaian market.
The service is available to both mobile and non-mobile users.
