A video depicting a sexual encounter involving two first-year students from the Kwadaso SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College has gained widespread attention.
As a response to this incident, the college’s management in the Ashanti Region has imposed a one-year suspension on the students involved.
The disciplinary committee of the school reached this decision after a meeting where the students admitted to their wrongdoing.
In an interview on OTEC FM’s Nyansapo show, Williams Adinkra, the Public Relations Officer for the school, clarified that the sexual activity occurred off campus, contrary to earlier reports suggesting it took place on school premises.
Adinkra stated, “We met with the three students immediately after the video surfaced online, and they admitted to the offense”
“The two individuals who engaged in the sexual act and captured it on video claimed they did it during their vacation. Our investigation revealed that the third person, who allegedly released the video, downloaded it from the girl’s phone and later demanded Ghc5,000 from her.”
According to Adinkra, when the girl failed to meet the demanded amount, the video was released and quickly spread on social media. Consequently, the girl responsible for releasing the video is likely to face disciplinary action upon her return to the college. Adinkra added,
“While all three students are currently serving a one-year suspension, the individual who released the video will face additional penalties upon their return.”
