Popular Ghanaian dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, or Livingstone Etse Satekla, as he’s known, received zero 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominations from the board this year.
Last year, his single “Putuu” made itself comfy on the charts, becoming one of the most viral songs in Ghana and perhaps crossing borders and one would have expected that song to win an award.
However, it appears Bhim Nation fans would have to postpone celebrating any VGMA win this year as the Ghanaian dancehall artiste got zero nominations after the full list of 2021 VGMA nominees were announced.
This also means that this is the second time that Stonebwoy has failed to be nominated for the VGMAs. He and Shatta Wale were banned for last year’s edition after engaging in a brawl on stage at the 2019 VGMAs.
However, the VGMAs ban was lifted this year, paving way for the former foes to submit their works for consideration but from the look of things, none of them submitted their works for consideration.
Stonebwoy has reacted to the monumental snub on his Snapchat account, writing on the app on Monday, the award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician said that musicians are now illuminated to understand that they cannot be fooled by VGMA plaques.
