Ghanaians need to step up their game if they want to have a chance of making it onto the top ten list of sexually active countries in Africa.
A survey conducted by Durex reveals that Nigerians and Cameroonians are among the most sexually active nations in Africa, and even globally.
At the top of the list sits Burkina Faso, a West African country with a population of over 21 million people and a birth rate of 42.42%. Following closely behind is Cameroon, with a population of 23.34 million and a birth rate of 36.58%.
Uganda and Gabon claim the third and fourth positions respectively. Uganda, an East African nation, boasts a birth rate of 34.17%, while Gabon’s fertility rate stands at 34.64%.
In fifth place is Zambia, a landlocked country in southern Africa, with a birth rate of 42.46%. It is considered one of the most sexually active countries on the continent.
Senegal and Nigeria, both West African nations, secure the sixth and seventh positions on the list, with fertility rates of 35.09% and 38.03% respectively.
The African island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe takes the eighth position, with a birth rate of 35.12%. The total population of the country is 190,344.
The Republic of Congo claims the ninth spot, with a natality rate of 36.59%. Finally, Tanzania wraps up the top ten list with a birth rate of 36.82%.
